The Artist Behind The Work
Hoda Nicholas is a Canadian artist born in Cairo, Egypt, and currently based in Newmarket, Ontario. Her artistic journey began early, shaped by a deep appreciation for beauty, creativity, and the expressive power of art. Although formally trained in architecture, her natural inclination toward fine art ultimately guided her path. She is self-taught and works primarily in oil, drawn to the medium for its richness, depth, and timeless quality.
Inspired by Canadian landscapes and florals, Hoda’s work explores light, movement, and emotion through bold color palettes and expressive brushwork.

Artist Statement
We move quickly through life, often passing beauty without truly seeing it. Through my art, I seek to slow time—capturing and eternalizing moments of wonder, color, and light that invite peace, joy, and reflection. Inspired by nature and working in oil, I create paintings that uplift the spirit, awaken a sense of presence, and reflect my belief that beauty is both sacred and essential.
To me, creating is not a choice but a calling—an essential act that nourishes the soul and gives form to joy.
