It's been a while since I participated in an outdoor show so it's exciting to once more be part of one. The Liberty Village Art Crawl is this Saturday, September 12th from 12-5:00 pm at the Bentway, 250 Fort York Blvd.

The challenge with any show is to decide how many pieces to bring and what sizes are appropriate. I usually try to bring different sizes while still focussing on the cohesiveness of the display. There has been times when I brought way more than I could display but not anymore. I learnt to create a mock up of my display on word or excel to know exactly which pieces to bring and where they will go, a much better approach that keeps me on track and makes the setup quick and seamless.

On the other hand, the upside of an outdoor art show, or any show for that matter, is the opportunity it provides for me to meet so many new people and talk art. The atmosphere is usually joyful and light and those who stop by my booth to chat, ask a question, just admire my art or acquire a piece to bring home fills my heart with joy and gratitude.

Connecting with people in person is priceless. It is the real deal.

Have you been to an outdoor art show recently? what grabbed your heart?
